FX Dirt is the NewRuleFX brand of clean movie dirt.

It's a light brown colored very fine powder. It fluffs and flows nicely and disperses well in air. Made from diatomaceous earth which is actually microscopic fossilized remains of diatoms, a type of hard shelled algae! This is a very "clean" type of dirt product. It contains amorphous silica and calcium bentonite clays. There is less than 1% harmful crystalline silica in this product, which makes this the perfect product when dust and dirt are required for use on set.

FX Dirt can be used in compressed air hoppers and ejectors to create blast effects. It is non-flammable and is not sensitive to static discharge. It can be dusted onto set pieces to age a set instantly, and is commonly sifted onto wardrobe to produce that great impact dust cloud that you see during fight scenes!
